15-minute cinnamon sugar doughnuts made from biscuit dough! This childhood favorite recipe is a quick and easy way to make hot, fresh and tasty doughnuts that the whole family will love!
Heat 1 inch of oil in a large skillet with tall sides over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, or until the oil is hot.
In a shallow bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar.
Separate the biscuits, then press a bottle cap into the center of each biscuit to cut out a small circle. Keep the center pieces of dough to fry as doughnut holes.
Once the oil is hot, begin frying the doughnuts and doughnut holes by placing a few at a time into the hot oil. Cook until the bottom of the doughnuts turn golden brown, then flip to cook the other side, about 1-2 minutes total.
Remove the doughnuts from the oil and place on a paper towel lined plate to absorb some of the oil. While still warm, toss the doughnuts in the cinnamon sugar until all sides are coated. Enjoy while warm!
Notes
*A good way to test if the oil is hot enough is to hold a wooden spoon into the oil, and if the oil starts to bubble around the wood, then the oil is ready.
