Rachel Riesgraf
My absolute favorite latte to make at home! Incredibly delicious and only lightly sweetened. All you need is 5 ingredients and 5 minutes to make an Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso Latte. I also share my secret to making the best latte at home without a fancy espresso machine! You're going to be obsessed with this latte.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons boiling hot water
  • 1-2 shots espresso
  • ½-3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • Brown Sugar Syrup: To a jar with a lid, add the brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla then pour in the hot water. Shake with the lid on until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Pour the espresso into the jar with the syrup. Top with ice and shake until chilled and frothy.
  • Strain the brown sugar syrup and espresso into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.
  • If desired, use a frother to froth the milk, then pour the milk into the glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of brown sugar. Cheers!

Notes

Make ahead: Double, triple or quadruple the brown sugar syrup and store covered in the fridge. When you're ready to make a latte, give the syrup a good shake because the brown sugar clumps together as it cools, then continue making the espresso as stated above.
