Ingredients

  • 1 can Pillsbury Grands Southern Homestyle Biscuits
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Heat 1 inch of oil in a large skillet with tall sides over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, or until the oil is hot.
  • In a shallow bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar.
  • Separate the biscuits, then press a bottle cap into the center of each biscuit to cut out a small circle. Keep the center pieces of dough to fry as doughnut holes.
  • Once the oil is hot, begin frying the doughnuts and doughnut holes by placing a few at a time into the hot oil. Cook until the bottom of the doughnuts turn golden brown, then flip to cook the other side, about 1-2 minutes total.
  • Remove the doughnuts from the oil and place on a paper towel lined plate to absorb some of the oil. While still warm, toss the doughnuts in the cinnamon sugar until all sides are coated. Enjoy while warm!

Notes

*A good way to test if the oil is hot enough is to hold a wooden spoon into the oil, and if the oil starts to bubble around the wood, then the oil is ready.
