Ginger Whiskey Mojito

Yield 1 drink

Mint and lime muddle together and mix with Irish whiskey and ginger beer to create a tasty and refreshing drink for St. Patrick’s Day or any day! This naturally green cocktail is perfect for festivities.

To make one drink:

To make one drink:

  1. Squeeze the juice from both lime wedges into a glass, and add the mint leaves. Use a cocktail muddler or the end of a wooden spoon to muddle the mint into the lime juice, releasing the oils from the mint. Drop one of the squeezed lime wedges into the glass.
  2. Pour in whiskey and ginger. Top with ice, and garnish with additional lime wedge or mint leaves.
  3. Cheers!

To make a pitcher (10 drinks):

  1. Add 80 mint leaves and juice of 5 limes to a pitcher, and muddle together using a wooden spoon. You can then drop a few of the juiced lime halves into the pitcher to make it look pretty :)
  2. Pour in 20 ounces of whiskey and 40 ounces of ginger beer.
  3. Top with ice and stir together.
  4. Garnish each drink individually with mint leaves or lime wedges.

  1. 80 mint leaves may sound like a lot, but don't freak out. Fresh mint typically comes in a little 0.75-ounce plastic container, and one container holds about 40 leaves. So, if you buy two then you should be good to go! You can find fresh mint by other fresh herbs like thyme and rosemary in the produce section.
  2. I like to use a citrus juicer to juice the limes to make sure you get all of the juice out. I think this works better than simply squeezing limes, but if you don't have a juicer, it's all good. Work with what you've got.
